AmeriCOM has awarded Ursinus College and University of Central Florida (UCF) a $1.2 million grant for research that could revolutionize the recycling and recovery process of infrared glass. The glass has a wide range of applications, particularly in military capabilities, because it can detect infrared light which is invisible to the human eye. As technology and innovation continue to expand applications of the glass, raw material costs and sustainability of the glass become more relevant.
